How To Freshen Up A Dated Bedroom

Collaborative post by another author. Your bedroom is one of the most important rooms in your house. It should be a cosy retreat for you to enjoy after a day of work. However, it can be easy to neglect your bedroom and let it can become somewhere that you just sleep.

If you are looking to inject some freshness into your bedroom and make it a space you long to hang out in again, consider implementing the following ideas:

New Bedding

A simple yet effective way to freshen up your bedroom is to buy some new bedding. Investing in bedding with a high thread count and good reviews will ensure that it washes well and will look better for longer. If you want to go one step further, you could also buy some new cushions in the same colour palette.

Including different textures is a good way to create a cosy atmosphere, so why not go for brushed cotton bedding and linen cushions?

Build Your Own Built-In Wardrobe

We can all be guilty of allowing a floordrobe to build up every once in a while. If this tends to be the case more often than not in your bedroom, why not take the plunge and add a built-in wardrobe to your room to make great use of the space?

Gather some quality milwaukee tools, purchase the materials necessary, and get on with the build and installation. Before taking any of these steps, make sure that you have carefully considered the design to suit your specific needs. For example, if you own a lot of long dresses, include a high rail so as not to crumple them.

Display Your Pictures And Prints

A gallery wall is the perfect way to add personality to your bedroom. Use different size frames to create a dynamic look. This could include family photos or prints from your favourite artist. Do not worry about putting everything up all at once, gallery walls often look the best when they feature items you have gathered over time from different locations, such as on holiday or received as gifts. This does not need to be limited to artwork, you could also include mirrors too.

Add Lots Of Light

While this room is where you sleep, it is nice to brighten up the space for while you are awake. There are plenty of ways you can do this.

First start by switching out dark, heavy curtains for a more lightweight option. This does not need to mean scarifying sleep, you could also install blackout blinds so that the room works for all times of day.

As well as natural light, introducing a range of lamps is a good way to create a softer, more inviting atmosphere, perfect for winding down at the end of a long day.
