What is there to do at Bury Lane Fun Barn?
Soft play
Bury Lane Fun Barn is a farm-themed, indoor soft play with slides,
tunnels, swings, interactive activities and tonnes of space for
children to let off steam. The soft play is clean and spacious, but
does get quite busy.
The main area is for under 10s with a separate section for under 5s.
Sensory Room
In addition to the main soft play space, there is a lovely
interactive sensory play zone to stimulate and engage babies under
2 years and children with additional needs under 10 years
old. It includes mirrors, fibre optics, bubble tubes and a
small ball pool to entertain children in a serene setting.
The sensory room requires booking and a passcode to gain access
and is limited to a maximum of 12 people at a time to make it less
overwhelming for little ones playing in there.
Outside Space including the "Beach"
Outside there is more fun to be had with the sandpit, climbing rock,
bouncy pillow and play equipment.
It is a lovely enclosed, open space outside and children can roam
around each play area.
Our children aged 2, 5, 6 and 7 all preferred the outdoor area, so get
your money’s worth by going in the soft play first. Once your time is
up in the soft play, you are able to stay and enjoy the activities
outdoors including the beach.
All soft play tickets include access to the beach, however 'Beach
Only' tickets do not give access to the soft play. It is worth noting
that the Beach at Bury Lane is open seasonally from spring until
autumn and is closed during bad weather.
In the outside area they have staffed go karts and trampolines with
bungee rope attached. These are only open weekends, May half term and
the Summer holidays, but they are included in the price.
Pick Your Own - flowers and strawberries
The pick your own peonies were in season during our last visit and
looked amazing as people were walking past with bunches of huge
peonies. You can see what seasonal produce is currently available to
pick on their website
here, but it
includes: tulips, peonies, strawberries, dahlias and pumpkins.
Where can I eat at Bury Lane Fun Barn?
The Fun Barn has a great in-house cafe with plenty of hot and cold
food options including sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes,
salads, pizzas and chips. Kids have the options of hot meals such
as sausages or fish fingers or build your own lunchboxes. We found
the food to be be good with generous portion sizes.
There is outdoor and indoor seating but they do not allow picnics
(this includes food bought from the farm shop).
The cafe can cater for most allergies and requirements as all
food is made fresh to order, just ask the staff who are happy to
help.
There is a refreshment wagon in the outside area which is open weekends and busy periods.
