Games and arts are great options for a rainy day |
Collaborative post by another author.
On those dreary days when you can’t go outside because the rain is falling, you need to have some backup plans that you can complete in the house. Whether this is for you, your kids, or both, you need to have some kind of entertainment and fun while you’re at home. In this post, we’re going to be giving you a range of different options that you can look into, and if you can’t find inspiration from, there are ideas to branch out and do some more research.
Arts
Let us start by looking into various forms of arts. If you’re quite the creative person but you don’t feel too confident in what you can create, then you might have convinced yourself that you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place and that’s simply not true. It’s not about the finished product, it’s about how you felt while you were creating it, if it brought you joy, if you feel better and whether you enjoyed the process. If you did, then that is what matters because that is the entire point of a hobby.Keep in mind there are so many different types of art, and it’s about finding the one or ones that you love the most. This might be painting, colouring, crafts, sculpting, needlework or something else. The choice is yours, but the only way to know which one suits you best is to give them a try.
Scrapbooking
This one is a little more on the unusual side because how many people really scrapbook these days? With photos being on phones more often than not, not that many people want to print them out and have physical copies, or if they do, they don’t know how to.But phones can be lost, pictures can be deleted and that’s why it's worth considering scrapbooking as a hobby. You can create books upon books of memories in your life. Include captions, dates and have these books of memories that you can look back on, full of some of the best moments of your life.
Games
Finally, think about other inside hobbies that can be done on wet and miserable days. There are so many to choose from, including playing games. The list of games is endless and can include online, offline and even board games. If you have children why not gather them around the table to play some good old fashioned Monopoly or Cluedo. Children love being challenged and games can bring out their competitive streak as well as their critical thinking (and be lots of fun).
If you are on your own and want to play some games to test your brain then how about something like sudoku or wordle? They can be found online so you don’t even need to find your old puzzle book.
We do hope you found this article helpful and it gave you some ideas on indoor hobbies that can help you pass the time. There is nothing worse than time dragging and being bored, especially when outside is unappealing due to weather.
