Planning a wedding is exciting and nerve-racking at the same time. You’ll probably really enjoy picking the flowers, planning your playlists, exploring different wedding venues and all the other fun jobs that come with wedding planning. But with all the joy, there will come a time when you feel overwhelmed. It happens to everyone and it’s no surprise when you consider it’s a big occasion for you both and everyone who is attending. The more prepared you are, the quicker you can overcome this emotion.

When planning a wedding, you’ll have a list of tasks to do. Some of them will be nice to have, but others will be must haves. For example, a videographer may be a nice-to-have, but having a photographer (professional or otherwise) is a must to capture those happy memories. Having favours on the table is nice, but having your wedding rings prepared is vital etc.

To help get you thinking about your wedding, we have put together three must-haves for your wedding.

Wedding Rings

You can’t have a wedding without wedding rings! As soon as you have your venue is sorted, the next thing to do on your list should be looking for the rings for your special day. The sooner you start looking for wedding rings, the better idea you will get on the price and how much you should budget for them. Plus, if you are getting custom rings made, it can take a few months for them to make them for you. Even if you don't plan on wearing the rings on a daily basis, having the symbol to exchange is seen as a key part of the ceremony.

Flowers

Flowers can really transform a wedding from an average one to a great one. As soon as you can, start getting in touch with florists to get an idea of pricing and the types of flowers they can offer you. Certain flowers are better for a certain time of year, meaning this could affect the time of year you would like to get married. The sooner you book a florist, the more likely it is they will be able to do your wedding, as florists can get busy and booked up, especially during the peak season. When choosing flowers, consider what your bridesmaids are going to wear, as this could also have an effect on your choices of colours.

Wedding Website

In today’s world, it is very popular to have a wedding website built to share all your wedding updates. You can post your wedding photos on it after the big day for people to see, as well as share your gift list and venue details. Depending on your creative spark, you could give it a go yourself. Alternatively, you could reach out to a web design company to do it for you. Just make sure you include this within your budget.

Whatever you have planned for your big day, make sure it's a reflection of you and your partner. It's a day to celebrate your love and future life together so don't feel pushed to make it something you aren't happy with. The best weddings aren't the biggest or the most expensive, they are the personal ones which really reflect the happy couple.
