Gifts of Gold for Christmas

A wise man once thought Gold made the perfect gift for Christmas so I have been searching for golden gifts for every type of person in your life. (Ok I recognise that the 3 wise men didn’t really come at Christmas bringing Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh because if they did visit newborn Jesus and his folks it wouldn’t have been Christmas, but I still think it's a good theme for a gift guide).

For The New Mum

Muslins are one of the must buy essentials for a newborn baby, but there is no reason for them to be boring. Aden + Anais muslin’s are worth their price tag as they are a generous size and very very beautiful. I have loved these gold one’s from the moment I saw them and they should help make any new mum feel like a yummy mummy.

For The Person Who Has Everything

Large White Chocolate Oreo Pyramid with 24K Edible Gold by Empire Chocolates £15 from Not On The Highstreet
These handmade chocolates are decorated with real gold and they taste great. This chocolate needs to be savoured to appreciate the mini piece of art.

For the Cake Lover

Home Baked Brownies dusted with Gold Stardust £ low
Add a sprinkle of gold to homemade brownies or cupcakes to make a personal and special present (or cheat and upgrade store bought cakes). Most baking departments sell edible gold coloured powder to add a bit of magic to your home baked gifts.

For the Glamorous

Bottega Gold Prosecco Non Vintage, 75cl £24.99
Prosecco has become a popular and affordable alternative to champagne. Coming in a gold bottle adds extra glamour and makes it perfect for Christmas.

For the Party Girl

Personally I think gold nail vanish looks a bit like you have a bad smoking habit, but gold glitter is perfect for nights out. This great nail varnish has small bits of black glitter with larger pieces of gold.

For The Foodie

Anything from Fortnum & Mason’s makes a great present, but this marmalade edible glitter in it making it christmassy and special. Made with Seville oranges, prosecco and Marc de Champagne this is not your ordinary marmalade. They also do a shimmering Strawberry Preserve which is pretty fab too.

For The Beautiful
L'Or des Pharaons Anti-Aging Skin Mist from Noble Naturals
This Gold of the Pharaohs is purified and revitalized water containing monatomic, diatomic and nanoclusters of pure gold, pure platinum and pure zinc (that came from the leaflet). The gold may be too small to see (less than 5 nanometres), but it claims that the size allows maximum absorption.
The fine mist comes in a dark blue glass bottle feels lovely and refreshing when sprayed on to my face and is more original than another bath bomb or body lotion.

For The Stylish
I couldn’t have a guide of golden gifts without including jewellery. This necklace is simple, original and stylish. I love that it's small and can be worn with anything.

For The Writer

A beautiful notepad always inspires me to write special things. This notebook by one of my favourite designers Kate Spade looks beautiful and is a practical present too.

For the Acquaintance or Chocoholic Friend

Wispa Gold by Cadburys £0.60
Real gold is expensive, but if you want to say a little Happy Christmas to someone without the price tag how about this tasty, but cheap treat? Of course if you like the person a little more you could buy them a box full which should keep them going for a month or two.
